Must Have: The Z2300 by Polaroid
Going through my Wallpaper Magazine Case Studies app, I came across this amazing news... Polaroid the iconic photography brand known for the fabulous camera that gave us those amazing nostalgic images has come out with a new camera for the digital world, available in August.
Not only does the new Z2300 take fabulous digital images at 10 megapixels but it also has a built-in printer that automatically prints 2"x3" prints in under a minute. These photos have the classic Polaroid look or can come on a sticker backing.
I can't even tell you how excited this makes me... I have an old vintage Polaroid that I took on vacation with me a few years ago, but now... this will be just perfect for all my trips. You can even upload images to social media platforms, a definite must have for the summer.

Room B- Furniture Design
I met Brian from Room B a few months ago, right before he was heading to New York to present his furniture pieces at ICFF. I was invited to his warehouse space to see how it all happens and here is what I found out...
Brian Buchick graduated from the faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba. He has worked for over 10 years in the building industry and started Room B in 2010. Room B is a design and manufacturing firm located in Calgary (Represent!) and all products are Canadian made (Double Represent!)
Room B is dedicated to creating design that is all encompassing; creating products based not only on aesthetic but practicality and affordability. I have seen his pieces (pictured above) and they are all hand crafted and made to perfection. My favourites have to be his stools with the open back. I love how they feel like a piece of sculpture and are so comfortable.
Style can definitely be functional.

12BLOCKS
I am in the process of getting ideas to re-design my yard. I am no landscaper but do have a good eye for design, so I decided to research some new ideas that were out there. I have a horizontal wood screen separating an area that looks on to my neighbours yard and I thought why not do some concrete blocks. But not your everyday concrete blocks... and so the search began.
I came across 12 Blocks by Loom Studio. An innovative product made the same way as plain concrete blocks are made but with some aesthetically pleasing designs. Of course, this caught my attention right away. Nothing is more amazing then when a designer takes something so ordinary, something that is used in design everyday and turns it into something so spectacular.
"Loom Studio is a collaborative practice of design and architecture orchestrating a minimum of resources to a maximum effect by transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary." I could have said it any better myself!

CityLine in Alberta
I was honoured to be featured on CityLine today, Canada's longest running daytime talk show. Every Thursday is design/decor day and while they were filming in Calgary last week, I was delighted to feature one of the homes that I have decorated to showcase what Calgary design style is all about.
I had a lot of fun shooting with the team and getting to see the CityLine gang.
A big thanks to Patrick, Donna, Fiona, and of course, Tracy. Hope to see you again soon.
