Cruising NoLIta: NYC

After an amazing experience at the New Museum on my trip to NYC this past weekend I decided to stroll about the area known as NoLIta (North of little Italy). Seriously, this is my new favourite area. I hadn't really had much of a chance to see it on my previous trip and I am so glad that I got to spend a few hours here. Here is a quick rundown of my best destinations not to be missed:

1. Haus Interior (250 Elizabeth St)

An interior design firm that opened this boutique in 2009. The shop is curated with the most amazing home accessories from hand knit throws to carpets. Super loving the round mirrors with the leather straps, so chic! You can also shop online.

2. LE LABO (233 Elizabeth St)

If you are as big a fan of scents as I am then this is a must stop! This place is like a chem lab and you can create your own personal scent. My favourite had to be the Bergamont, I can still smell it: sweet and delish!

3. Love, ADORNED (296 Elizabeth)

Stepping into this store, it was hard not to be overwhelmed with all the beauty! Hand made jewellery, leather goods and of course the gorgeous hand painted skulls caught my eye.

4. TACOMBI

Need a break? This is the perfect place to chill, relax and enjoy some great beer and a taco! An amazing find and a definite highlight for me. A little bit of authentic Mexico in the heart of NYC. LOVE!

Trina Turk- Residential

On a recent trip to Palm Springs I came across a store called Trina Turk. What allured me into the store? A fantastically styled window prepped with bold patterns, chic furniture, and a handsome mannequin wearing clothes that just screamed my name.

I was pleasantly greeted a well dressed man with fabulous glasses that informed me that Trina Turk had recently expanded to include their Mens and Residential collections. I was in heaven. The store itself was gorgeous and the items speak for themselves.

My faves had to be the amazing pillows as I am a huge fan of bold prints, the tile hook rugs were amazing, and of course the bedding.

They also have a store in NYC and Los Angeles.

Hudsons Bay Stripes

There is nothing more iconic Canadiania than the Hudsons Bay stripe! The brand has come a long way since the original wool blanket and are now introducing their fabulous new Spring/Summer 2012 collection out in select Bay stores across Canada. The look is so prepster chic, I just LOVE IT.

Everything from flip flops, luxe beach towels (the anchor one is my fave!) to the fabulous bikini, the stripe is included in all of the elements from this collection. I also wanted to mention the gorgeous totes and the amazing Lomography camera... delish! No beach day is complete without one in hand!

Happy Shopping!

Wallee M by StudioProper

I came across an amazing new product recently called the Wallee M, created by StudioProper, an Australian based design studio. What is it? An innovative, modular case mounting system for the iPhone 4/4S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. It works with the use of very powerful and rare magnets. You can mount your phone anywhere!  What I love is that that have stayed true to the design of the iPhone and not added any unnecessary bulk. The look is sleek, contemporary, and modern. I also love that it comes in black and white.

They have a promotion on right now and have partnered with Kickstarter, the world's largest funding platform for creative projects. If you pledge $40 you will receive a Wallee M package. Quite amazing knowing that you will be contributing to what could be the next pebble?!

WETSTYLE at ICFF

I have been using WETSTYLE products for quite some time now. I love how seamless and modern their designs are. Versatility is key in any form of design and I find that their pieces really lend themselves to many styles of design.

A true Canadian company that handcrafts all of their goods at the company headquarters. All their products are composed of WETMAR, the industry's most advanced and eco-friendly natural stone composite material lending strength, durability, slip resistance, and natural thermo-insulation.

They are going to be at ICFF this year and unveiling their fabulous new booth (above) as well as 2 new designs:

Couture Collection

Takes its inspiration from the sea by unique and delicate ridges found on seashells. It helps stresses drift away by offering the ultimate relaxation and comfort reminiscent of resting seaside on white sandy shores! How divine! Designed for WETSTYLE by award winning French Canadian industrial designer Patrick Messier. This collection also includes a vessel sink.

Tulip Collection

Taking a more traditional approach and fit for two, this collection embodies the simple and organic shape of a blossoming tulip. Rounded edges along the rim circle two ergonomically-minded sitting positions. It provides ultimate relaxation for this looking to rest their head back and soak in natures beauty. Designed by Joel Durpas.

Eat, Stay, Love: LODEN Style

One of my all time favourite hotels to stay at is called the Loden in Vancouver. I first stayed there a few years ago over a short stay in Vancouver and fell in love immediately. The rooms are very well designed, the service is amazing, and the restaurant (Tableau) is delicious.

I have done a post on the hotel before, but they have recently launched a yoga themed package to help their guests find their centre. I recently started practicing yoga and must tell you, it is a great stress reliever! Available from now until June 30th, you can enjoy this fabulous package that starts at $259 a night and it includes the following:

1. Overnight accommodation in a garden terrace room. A space that incorporates the feeling of the outdoors with a step out patio amid an urban garden.
2. Each guest will be provided with an in room yoga mat, dedicated yoga channel, fresh orange juice delivered to your room every morning.
3. Unlimited access to the infrared sauna.
