Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of entertaining. Having people over for cocktails, dinner, or just a simple get together is always fun. And of course, I have to go all out with the perfect decor and accents to make the party a big hit.
Even more than hosting a party, however, I love being invited to a great party. On a recent trip to Toronto I was fortunate enough to have been invited to a the launch of Hosting for Hope, by my friends at Homesense.
Hosted by the amazing Jan Arden, Hosting for Hope was launched as an initiative to raise awareness for The Canadian Women's Foundation. Here's how you can get involved.
First, plan the perfect get together and sign up at HostingForHope.ca with a $50 contribution. You can then invite guests to your event using the website and request a donation to a local women's shelter in lieu of getting a hostess gift. The best thing, 100% of all money raised will go towards helping women and children rebuild their lives.
The Toronto launch dinner was served family style at one of my fave spots: Ruby WatchCo. Owned by Restaurant Makeover Chef Lynn Crawford and dining with the likes of Sarah Richardson, Samantha Pynn, Wendy Russell and Chris Hyndman to name a few, I really got in the spirit of breaking bread with good friends and supporting a worthy cause at the same time.
I was really honoured to have been invited.
I really could not think of a better way to raise awareness against violence towards women.
I am getting started on planning my perfect party... be sure to sign up and share your photos of your Hosting For Hope party!
