I came across the most amazing website the other day called LushPad. This site offers some fab mid century and vintage finds that people list for sale, a high end Kajiji if you will! It's a fantastic resource for those of us that love that whole mid century look but don't want to pay the not so mid century price. The key is to always keep checking to see what's been posted to find the best bargains. Now remember, that just because a piece looks "well loved" doesn't mean it cant look brand new again. A new coat of paint or some new upholstery is all it takes... and they ship to Canada!!!! YAY!!!!!!!

I was asked to talk about outdoor living on a budget on todays segment for Breakfast Television. I decided to go to one of my favorite places, Superstore. They carry the PC HOME line of outdoor living furniture and let me say that it is FAB. Anyone that is on a budget and wants to live stylishly should really see what they have to offer.
Whether you are avid outdoor entertainer or one that likes to curl up outside with a book, they have something for everyone. From living room sets with Sofa, Chairs, and Coffee Table to Dining tables that sit 6. They are stylish and most of all affordable. Perfect for those that are working out the staycation!
They also have an incredible selection of good looking BBQ's to make your summer even that much better. I mean, who doesn't love a good BBQ?

As an investor and creative director of Smyth&Kang Calgary, I thought it was fitting to have a little get together to showcase what we are doing at Smyth. We are creating a design collective of sorts; a place where designers can come and showcase their wears whether it be fashion, design, or accessories.
Transformed was a night to showcase designers such as Adejoke Taiwo, Lara Presber, and Haithem Elkadiki who presented his Spring/Summer 2010 collection featuring models from Artists Within Modeling Agency. The night was a huge success with Calgary's fashionistas joining us in celebrating a new page opening up for the fashion scene in this great city of ours. Please contact me if you or if you know of anyone that interested in showcasing their work at the store!

On friday I was invited to a very neat event called Recycle Denim Maniacs. It was held at Artlife Gallery. The concept of the event was to raise funds of WWF (World Wildlife Fund).
7 fabulous fashion designers were given Nudie Jeans to recycle and come up with new creations that would be auctioned off at the event. Designers like Paul Hardy, Adejoke Taiwo (Project Runway Canada) and a great friend of mine, Haithem Elkadiki (www.kaadiki.com) all participated in this amazing event and all WORKED IT OUT!
The outfits were fashion forward and unique, the crowd was filled with fabulous fashionistas and recessionistas that were on the prowl for something avant garde and recycled. It was wonderful to be in attendance of such a great fashion event, something that I think Calgary is lacking!
